What is passport?
A passport is required to travel to any other country. Without passport you cannot go to any other country. If you go to another country without a passport even by mistake, then legal action will be taken against you and you can also be punished. Passport has been made mandatory from the point of view of security.
What are the documents required for passport 2023
Any one of these documents for Date of Birth (DOB) – 10th mark sheet, Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID card or Driving license.
For Residence Certificate – Electricity or Water Bill, Ration Card, Assessment Order of Income Tax Department, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook.
Affidavit of Indian citizenship and no criminal record, also known as Annexure Format-1.
how much is the fee
Fees from 1500 to 2000 rupees are charged for making passport and some extra fees are also given for instant passport.
Online Application Process
Before applying online you have to create an account on passport website :-
Go to https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in passport website.
Click on the new user box and go to registration.
Go to Passport Seva on this website and select the passport office in your city.
Make sure your name as per the document and start filling the form which is quite simple.
When the complete form is filled, click on Register.
Further process after creating an account:-
Go to the website of Passport Seva from your created account.
Click on Login.
Enter your email id and click on Continue.
After this, enter the email, password and characters which will be in the image and click on login.
Click on Apply for Fresh Passport/Reissue of Passport.
In this you will be shown two options in which you can fill online or print it and upload it later. Which you can do at your convenience.
To fill the online form, click on Click here to fill the application form online, in this you will be shown two pages.
On the next page, you will have to choose between new passport or re-issue, normal or tatkal, 38 leaves or 60 leaves. In which you can proceed by clicking as per your wish.
On its next page, you have to enter personal information which should match with the documents given by you.
After filling this form click on submit application.
After that click on View Saved/Submitted Application.
After that check your application carefully and click on the radio button. Then click on the Drink & Schedule button.
Select Online Payment and click on Next. With this, the list of your nearest passport center will appear on the screen, in which the nearest date and time will be given, select it.
Select the option as per your convenience in the drop down box next to the location of the P is.
After this type the characters given in the image and click on Pay and book appointment.
This will take you to the payment gateway. Once your payment is complete, you will again go to the Passport Seva website and see the details of all the equipment you have received from your Passport Seva Kendra.
After this you will print your application receipt which will be asked from you at the time of entry in Passport Seva Kendra. There if your documents are correct then it will not take more than two hours and your application will be accepted.
How to get passport at home?
Passport is normally sent through courier facility to the address given by you. Courier company Bluedart offers a facility called Critical Express to send such documents.
